On the afternoon of March 24, Wei Zhaohui, member of the Standing Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), deputy secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee and Mayor of Huaihua, visited Hecheng District to convey the spirit of the National Two Sessions and conducted research on rural revitalization. She stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement the important speeches delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping during the Two Sessions and the spirit of the sessions themselves, develop distinctive rural industries based on local conditions, make every effort to promote stable increases in farmers’ incomes, and advance the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas in a solid manner.

At the Yangliuxi Courtyard in Yangtan Village, Liangting'ao Township, Hecheng District, Wei inspected the results of rural living environment improvement on-site. She gained a detailed understanding of village planning, the integration of agriculture, culture, and tourism, industrial development driving rural progress, and the preservation of traditional village architectural features. Subsequently, she conducted a symposium to brief members of the municipal and district CPPCC committees, as well as representatives of grassroots cadres, on the spirit of the National Two Sessions.

Wei pointed out that this year’s National Two Sessions, held at the start of the 15th Five-Year Plan period, was a highly important meeting that yielded substantial outcomes and carried great significance. It is essential to align closely with national development plans, seize the opportunities presented by favorable policies, and go all out to plan projects and secure funding. The spirit of the Two Sessions must be translated into tangible and concrete results, thereby gathering stronger support for high-quality development.

Wei stressed the need to foster vibrant rural industries by developing distinctive local sectors tailored to local conditions, with a focus on linking and benefiting farmers. The approach should follow standardized production, brand building, and online marketing, using targeted measures to leverage significant income growth. Efforts should be made to build ecologically livable villages by preserving their rural character and enriching cultural heritage. Practical steps must be taken to advance household toilet upgrades, secure water supply, improve sewage treatment, and promote comprehensive utilization of crop straw, continuously enhancing rural living and production conditions.

The level of rural cultural and ethical progress should be steadily elevated by deeply exploring and promoting exemplary stories that embody truth, kindness, and beauty. Village regulations and community conventions should be refined to cultivate a simple, wholesome folk culture that values diligence, respects teachers and education, and fosters harmony among neighbors, guiding the public toward integrity, unity, and harmony.

Rural governance must be made more effective by improving mechanisms for resolving conflicts at their source. Regular visits and surveys by cadres should be conducted to promptly understand and address the difficulties and demands of the people, ensuring that disputes are genuinely resolved at the grassroots level and eliminated in their early stages. Farmers' lives should be made more prosperous by steadily advancing common prosperity, broadening avenues for increasing incomes, and enabling the broad mass of farmers to lead ever more thriving lives.
