To solidly improve the teaching quality of basic education and lay a solid foundation for the construction of a strong education city
On the afternoon of March 11, the city-wide education work conference and the mid-term promotion meeting for the three-year action to achieve a turnaround in basic education teaching quality were held. The conference thoroughly studied and implemented the guiding principles of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and General Secretary Xi Jinping's important expositions on education, followed the guiding principles of the national and provincial education work conferences, reviewed the work in 2025, made arrangements for the work in 2026, solidly advanced the three-year action to achieve a turnaround in basic education teaching quality, and further promoted the high-quality development of education in the city. He Zunqing, deputy secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee for Political and Legal Affairs, and leader of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee's Leading Group for Education Work, presided over the conference and delivered a speech. Vice mayor Xiang Rulian attended the conference.
The conference stressed that 2026 is a crucial year for winning the tough battle and reversing the situation of basic education teaching quality. All relevant departments at all levels and schools across the city must strengthen confidence, build on the momentum, uphold fundamental principles and break new ground, tackle tough issues and achieve breakthroughs, and continue to fight the "battle for a turnaround" in basic education teaching quality,thus laying a solid foundation for building a strong city in education and a regional education hub at the border of five provinces.
It is required to adhere to the combination of focusing on the present and looking to the long term, advance digital empowerment of education, explore new paradigms of application scenarios for "artificial intelligence plus education", integrate artificial intelligence technology into all elements and the whole process of education and teaching, and promote the integration of science and technology education with humanities education.
The conference required that we should analyze the situation, face shortcomings, adopt targeted measures and make precise efforts to effectively make up for the shortcomings and strengthen the weak links. We must adhere to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, take solid steps and achieve tangible results in cultivating people with ideals and convictions, and promote the in-depth implementation of the balanced development of moral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic and labor education. We should focus on high-quality and balanced development, make solid efforts to tackle tough problems and truly meet standards in consolidating the foundation, and fight a solid battle in order to strengthen the foundation. We should deepen reform and innovation-driven development, boldly explore and seek breakthroughs in stimulating vitality, and fight a battle to break through reform bottlenecks. We should strengthen coordinated linkage and guarantee, build consensus and promote implementation in pooling joint efforts, and fight a battle of coordinated cooperation.
At the conference, the Municipal Bureau of Education delivered a work report on education in the city, announced the "Circular on the Evaluation Results of Education and Teaching Quality from the Perspective of Admission to Graduation in the 2024-2025 Academic Year", and representatives from the Municipal Finance Bureau, Xupu County, Yuanling County Bureau of Education and Jingzhou No.1 High School delivered exchange speeches respectively.
