On January 5, the shortlist for the sixth batch of Hunan Provincial Manufacturing "Single Champion" enterprises was published, with four companies from Huaihua successfully making the list.
What exactly is a "Manufacturing Single Champion"? It refers to an enterprise that has long specialized in a specific niche segment of the manufacturing sector, possesses internationally advanced production technologies or processes, and holds a leading domestic market share for its individual product. Such a company represents the pinnacle of development and the strongest market prowess within its specialized field.
On the published list, four companies from Huaihua were named: Hunan Zhengqing Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd., Hunan Butian Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Hunan Zhongjian Qipei Technology Co., Ltd., and Hunan Litong Hengyu Cable Technology Co., Ltd. Their respective flagship products are Zhengqing Fengtongning Sustained-Release Tablets, Poria Cocos Polysaccharide Oral Liquid, high-efficiency digital thermal control equipment for rail transit rooms, and aluminum conductor steel-reinforced cables.
These products stand as representative examples of "Made in Huaihua." Take Poria Cocos Polysaccharide Oral Liquid for instance. This nationally unique product utilizes a key extraction method for carboxymethyl poria cocos polysaccharide. Through chemical modification, it transforms a type of sugar substance—which constitutes over 93% of the components in poria cocos but is not absorbable by the human body—into another type of sugar that is readily absorbed.
"This is our company's 'unique expertise.' It has not only increased the utilization rate of poria cocos from less than 5% to over 90% but has also enhanced its anti-cancer activity," said Xu Chaodong, Deputy General Manager of Hunan Butian Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.
Meanwhile, the Hunan Provincial Department of Industry and Information Technology also released a public notice confirming the successful reevaluation of the first, second, and third batches of Hunan's Manufacturing Single Champion enterprises. Two companies from our city—Hunan Wuxin Intelligent Technology Co., Ltd. and Hunan Chenzhou Mining Co., Ltd.—successfully passed the review. Their respective products are box girder formwork, and refined antimony (antimony ingots) with antimony oxide.
An official from the Huaihua Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology explained that in recent years, the city has been committed to building a "5+10" modern industrial system. Focusing on leveraging distinctive advantages, it has strengthened policy support and delivered targeted, efficient services. Efforts have been concentrated on key areas such as tiered enterprise cultivation, independent innovation, and digital empowerment. These initiatives actively guide companies to specialize in niche segments, refine their operations, and accelerate their progress in new fields and emerging sectors.
It is reported that our city is now home to 1 national-level and 11 provincial-level Manufacturing Single Champion enterprises. They primarily operate in sectors such as green mining, biomedicine, and equipment manufacturing.
