    Huaihua Delegation conducted a study and inspection tour in Chengdu

    From November 4th to 5th, a Party and government delegation from Huaihua City conducted a study and inspection tour in Chengdu. On the afternoon of November 4th, Cao Lijun, Standing Committee Member of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Chengdu Municipal Party Committee, held a meeting and exchanged views with the delegation led by Xu Zhongjian, Secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee.

    At the symposium, Cao extended welcome to the delegation and briefly introduced the economic and social development of Chengdu. In his words, what Chengdu has been studying and implementing at present includes the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the series of important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on Sichuan's work, as well as the deployment and requirements of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government to support the high-quality development of Chengdu. Seizing the major strategic opportunities such as the new round of Western Development and the construction of the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle, Chengdu has focused on the development of the "Three Centers and One Base". This means that the city endeavors to promote economic development and construction, develop new productive forces according to local conditions, and facilitate high-quality development.

    Both Chengdu and Huaihua are important node cities on the Yangtze River Economic Belt and the Western Land-Sea New Corridor. Therefore, it is hoped that the two cities will attach great importance to serving the national strategy and give full play to their respective advantages. This will lead to joint efforts in promoting industrial coordination and cooperation, in building up a cultural tourism ecology, in boosting high-level inland opening up and in setting up an ecological barrier for the Yangtze River. Both Chengdu and Huaihua will work hand in hand to achieve coordinated development and common development, thus considerably contributing to the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Economic Belt.

    On behalf of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, Xu congratulated Chengdu on its achievements in economic and social development. According to him, Chengdu has successfully seized major strategic opportunities in order to invigorate the economic growth. These are valuable lessons for Huaihua. Huaihua has stayed committed to the Spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, and the important speeches and instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work in Hunan as well. It will rigorously implement the decision-making arrangements of the Central Committee and the deployment requirements of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the Provincial Government. Leaning upon the Huaihua International Land Port, it has integrated into the Western Land-Sea New Corridor, connected the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle, expanded domestic and foreign openness and solidly promoted the integrated development of the port, industry, city and tourism. It will forge ahead with its efforts to accelerate the construction of a regional central city in the five-province surrounding area. It will take the initiative to serve and integrate into the national major development strategy, strengthen precise docking with Chengdu, and leverage Chengdu's development advantages, thereby striving to achieve new breakthroughs and fruitful outcomes in cooperation and development in terms of cultural and tourism integration, scientific and technological empowerment, and industrial development as well.

    During the short stay in Chengdu, the delegation carried ou on-site inspections at several cultural, tourism and commercial integration projects and enterprises, including Tiexiangsi Water Street, Tianfu Art Park, the Jinjiang Night Cruise project, Wangpingfang, Wuhou Shrine Museum, and Yushang Hemei Group. The delegation aimed to learn from the experiences and practices in cultural-tourism integration development, market operation and management, as well as the cultivation of new consumption scenarios, new formats, new models and new products.

    Those in attendance included Gu Xuebin, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee and Director of the Publicity Department, Chen Zhiyong, Vice Mayor of Chengdu Municipal People's Government, Cong Feng, Secretary-General of the CPC Chengdu Municipal Committee, and Li Weilin, Hu Chen, Xiang Rulian, leading comrades of Huaihua City.
