During the National Day and Mid-Autumn Festival holiday, the first long holiday after Huaihua’s hosting the 5th Hunan Tourism Development Conference, the scenic spots throughout the city has witnessed a surge in visitors.
Statistics from the Hunan Smart Cultural and Tourism Supervision Platform shows that the 98 cultural and tourism units of Huaihua City included in the monitoring platform had a cumulative passenger flow of 1.2173 million people from October 1st to 5th, a year-on-year increase of 93.21%, ranking second in passenger flow in the province and first in growth rate. Meanwhile, according to data from the Hunan Cultural and Tourism Statistics Comprehensive Platform, the 62 tourist areas monitored in Huaihua City achieved a cumulative operating income of 112 million yuan from October 1st to 5th, a year-on-year increase of 100.7%, presenting a booming cultural and tourism market.
During the holiday, the scenic spots at “One Axis and Four Points” and “Three Rivers and One Bay” of Huaihua have become popular destinations with diverse experiences and gameplay, attracting tourists from home and abroad. The Yushu Bay Cultural and Tourism Complex receives tourists from early in the morning to late at night every day, with acrobats performing unique skills, attracting the attention of many tourists. The ASEAN market sets off the holiday boom with “exotic customs+featured consumption”, including wonderful circus performances, bonfire parties, and specialty cuisine, such as Dongyingong soup, Hainanese chicken rice, Vietnam Spring rolls, etc., bringing exotic experience to the local citizens. As night falls, the dazzling night scenes and the exciting performance at Yushu Bay, Tianwen Island, and ASEAN market attract a large number of tourists. The Jingping Ancient Village in Zhongfang County, which has been newly rated as a national 4A level scenic spot, is bustling with tourists too in the holiday with the charm of stone-covered roads and ancient houses.
On October 4th, the football team of Huaihua got its first home match in Hunan Football Super League, with nearly 15000 citizens and tourists coming to watch the game at the Huaihua Sports Center. In order to convert the popularity of football match into cultural tourism, Huaihua has set up 61 branch sites of “Hunan Football Super League” across the city, extending the viewing trend to commercial districts, night markets, and scenic spots. At 1am, some stores are still full of customers. “My business is much better than that of last year’s National Day holiday, ”, said Ah Wei, the owner of a snack booth of night market.
In addition, Hongjiang City also enjoys bustling tourism market. During the first two days of the 8-day holiday, attractions such as the Hybrid Rice Origin Museum, Gaomiao Archaeological Site Park, Qianyang Ancient Town, Xuefengshan National Forest Park, and Qingjianghu National Wetland Park received over 320000 visitors. This is no exception to Yuanling, with the highlight of “traveling with competitions”, which attracts tourists from home and abroad through international events such as the China (Yuanling) · Zhonghua Book Mountain Poetry Competition and the Zhonghua Book Mountain · Yuanling Half Marathon, igniting local tourism.
