On the morning of October 20, the summary and reviewing meeting of the Fifth Hunan Tourism Development Conference was held in Changsha. Li Aiwu, deputy director of the Publicity Department of Hunan Provincial Party Committee, secretary of the Party Leadership Group of Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism and director of the Department, and Xu Zhongjian, secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, attended the meeting and delivered speeches. Also in attendance were the key members from the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism such as Liao Jian, Yan Changwen, Ning Jiaojun, Zhou Zhiyong, Gong Tiejun, and Wang Peng, as well as those from Huihua Municipal Government, including Li Weilin, Hu Chen, and Xiang Rulian, etc.
Li Aiwu pointed out in her speech that the successful hosting of the Fifth Hunan Tourism Development Conference has made positive contributions to promoting high-quality cultural and tourism development across the province. She firstly urged Huaihua to summarize and apply the effective practice and experience from the conference to achieve even greater success in advancing high-quality cultural and tourism development of the city. In addition, she stressed it is essential to fully leverage the role of market mechanisms and effectively enhance operational efficiency to ensure the sustainable cultural and tourism development of the city. What’s more, efforts should be accelerated to address gaps in leading cultural and tourism products, with a focus on boosting the influence and competitiveness of historical resources represented by the ancient town of Hongjiang and mountain tourism resources represented by Mount Xuefeng. The initiative to connect tourism points into tourism lines should be actively pursued to facilitate the transformation and upgrading from "attraction-based tourism" to "all-round leisure travel", so comprehensive improvements in tourism service levels should be made to better meet the tourists’ unique emotional value of "staying in Huaihua like home." At last, she added that regional coordination must be strengthened, with more proactive and holistic integration into the "Greater Zhangjiajie International Tourism Zone.".
Xu Zhongjian, on behalf of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and Huaihua Municipal Government, expressed gratitude to the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism for providing full support and precise guidance to Huaihua on hosting the 5th Hunan Tourism Development Conference. He said that the successful holding of the 5th Hunan Tourism Development Conference has injected strong momentum into the high-quality economic and social development of Huaihua city. Next, we will take making Huaihua a tourism distribution center in the bordering areas of five provinces as a key task for promoting Huaihua’s development in the "15th Five-Year Plan". We will consolidate the fruitful results of the tourism development conference by striving to transform Huaihua from a transportation hub to a tourist city. Our current focuses are to improve tourism service by implementing the five measures of benefiting tourists and further enhancing the tourism image and brand of the city, optimize the tourism industry and products of "Three Rivers and One Bay", and make the Xuefeng Mountain area into a national mountain tourism and vacation destination. In addition, we will carry out targeted tourism themed promotion and marketing, strengthen regional cooperation, and vigorously expand the tourism market so as to attract more tourists to Huaihua.
At the meeting, the relevant work of the 5th Hunan Tourism Development Conference was summarized and reviewed, with a focus on exchanging ideas on the ways of achieving further fruitful results of the tourism development conference.
