On the morning of September 28, Xu Zhongjian, secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee, conducted an inspection tour to check the preparedness of the tourism market for the upcoming National Day and Mid‑Autumn Festival holiday. He stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping Thought on Culture and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks on tourism development, conscientiously carry out the deployment requirements of the provincial Party committee and provincial government, advance the work following the Tourism Development Conference, and ensure service quality for the National Day and Mid‑Autumn holiday. He called for strict implementation of measures to benefit tourists and hospitality businesses, full stimulation of tourism consumption, and the promotion of high‑quality development across the city’s cultural and tourism industries.

Xu visited Jingping Ancient Village, ASEAN Market, Tianwen Island and Yushuwan to learn on site about the operation of tourism formats, organization of marketing activities, provision of public services and safety management. He inspected the implementation of security measures, exchanged views with business operators, and listened to their opinions and suggestions.

Xu pointed out that this year’s National Day and Mid‑Autumn holiday is the city’s first long holiday since the successful convening of the 5th Provincial Tourism Development Conference, and a peak in visitor numbers is expected. The city must seize the momentum and continue to amplify the Conference’s positive effects in boosting local industries and benefiting residents, spare no effort to attract visitors and boost Huaihua’s tourism industry. Promotion efforts should target tourists’ increasingly diverse and individualized demands and focus on creating a variety of new cultural tourism consumption scenarios, business formats and operating models, enrich cultural and tourism product supply, and carry out targeted publicity and marketing to activate new consumption hotspots and fully unlock holiday spending potential. Service quality must be comprehensively improved and a visitor‑centered approach upheld: work from the traveler’s perspective to refine service details and enhance the visitor experience. Tourism market supervision should be strengthened, with rapid‑response, handling and feedback mechanisms for tourist complaints fully implemented, and price fraud, forced purchases, overcharging and other illegal practices strictly investigated and punished in accordance with the law. Careful arrangements must be made for tourism transport with the aim of optimizing traffic organization and dispersal in key areas, implementing flexible vehicle supervision, and ensuring safe and smooth travel for visitors. Tourism safety management should also be strengthened through thorough inspections and rectification of hidden safety hazards across the sector, including reception venues, amusement facilities, and passenger vessels and vehicles.

Municipal leaders Li Weilin, Zou Xingwang, Xiang Rulian and Zeng Wenqian accompanied Xu on the inspection tour.
