On September 19th, it was learned from Hongjiang City that the upgrading and renovation project of Mount Xuefeng National Forest Park has been fully completed. The park used to be a logging site. After years of ecological restoration and industrial transformation, it has now been built into a comprehensive scenic spot integrating ecological health, exhibition of anti-Japanese war site, and educational tourism. It is planned to apply for a national 4A level tourist attraction within this year.
Since 2019, the local authority of Hongjiang City has been promoting renovations of the park in various aspects such as landscape transformation, road improvement, and research bases construction. More than 20 scenic spots have been built, including the ecological health center and the exhibition area for anti-Japanese war site. The forest quality has been precisely improved by 3000 acres, with forest coverage rate increasing from 91% to 96% and standing timber volume reaching 300000 cubic meters. During the early summer of 2025, more than 500 construction workers worked together to successfully complete key projects such as the tourist center and the cliff corridor, effectively solving construction difficulties in mountainous areas.
The upgraded park highlights the integration of ecology and culture. The couplets at the entrance of the park complement the name of the park inscribed by Academician Yuan Longping; New tourist center incorporating multi-ethnic elements, equipped with smart guides and 4D cinemas; The former site of the farm has been transformed into a tea house and a memory museum, continuing the historical context. The attractions of Yanzigou Tea House Residence, Pingshantang Wooden House Group, and Apple Bay RV Campsite not only preserve historical relics such as the Tea-Horse Ancient Road and Zhuge Ancient Well, but also provide modern cultural and tourism experiences. The former site of the high-altitude meteorological station has been transformed into a popular science homestay, and the Tianchi tennis court has become a popular sports destination on the top of the mountain.
The transformation of parks drives industrial revitalization. The original lumberjacks have shifted their focus to the cultivation and e-commerce sales of traditional Chinese medicine. Currently, a 10000 acre traditional Chinese medicine base has been established, including 1500 acres of Tianma and Huangjing cultivation. Through e-commerce platforms, the local agricultural products of Mount Xuefeng are sold nationwide, and the homestay and health industries promote employment, resulting in a significant increase in tourist numbers.
At present, the park is deepening cooperation with Mount Xuefeng TV FM broadcasting station and continuously expanding its development path. Mount Xuefeng National Forest Park is welcoming visitors from home and abroad with a brand new look.
