From July 8 to 10, Hunan Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee Research Group went deep into Yuanling County and Chenxi County to conduct special research on rectifying unhealthy trends and corruption around the masses, and held a symposium to listen to the work report on rectifying unhealthy trends and corruption around the masses in Huaihua.

The research group pointed out that Huaihua resolutely implemented the decision-making and deployment of the CPC Central Committee and the work requirements of CPC Hunan Provincial Party Committee, focused on the urgent and difficult problems of the masses, and did a lot of fruitful work in rectifying unhealthy trends and corruption around the masses, effectively safeguarding the vital interests of the people, effectively safeguarding fairness and justice, and improving people's livelihood.

The research group emphasized that it is necessary to deeply grasp the political, people-oriented, legal and arduous nature of the rectification work, strengthen political guidance, and consolidate the responsibilities of all parties, and carry out concentrated rectification of unhealthy trends and corruption around the masses as a concrete practice of firmly supporting the "two establishments" and resolutely implementing the "two maintenances". We must effectively use the results of rectification and reform, and insist on explaining discipline through cases; we must not cross the red line or the bottom line; we must insist on explaining the law through cases and using cases to talk about morality; we must not touch the defense line or disrupt the main line; we must insist on using cases to clarify responsibilities. We must focus on people's livelihood and severely punish "petty corruption", thoroughly correct outstanding problems that infringe on the interests of the people, and let the people feel that the atmosphere continues to improve in specific practical matters. We must focus on statutory duties, give full play to the role of people's congress representatives, and prudently, steadily, and orderly carry out special reports of the Supervisory Committee to the Standing Committee of the People's Congress in accordance with the law to ensure the unity of political, legal and social effects, and jointly push for greater results in rectification work.
