The Municipal Education Bureau of Huaihua has recently launched new college student funding of the year 2025 for economically disadvantaged families has been launched. Eligible students can apply for student loans, Zhihui Plan and other funding projects.

Student loans are provided by the government and financial institutions for native students of Huaihua, without the need for collateral, and are used to cover students’ tuition, accommodation and living expenses. Students and parents (or other custodians) are co-borrowers and jointly bear the repayment responsibility. Among them, full-time ordinary undergraduate and junior college students (including preparatory, higher vocational, and second bachelor's degrees) can borrow up to 20,000 yuan per year; full-time postgraduate students (including master's degrees and doctoral degrees) can borrow up to 25,000 yuan per year. The annual interest rate of the loan is currently 2.8%, and the interest during the student's academic periods is subsidized by the state finances; within 5 years after graduation, only the interest needs to be paid, and no principal needs to be repaid.

It is understood that after receiving the university admission letter, students can apply to the funding department of the education bureau in their place of household registration from July to September. The first loan needs to be handled on-site by students and co-borrowers, and the renewal loan can be handled online.

At the same time, the Zhihui plan provides a one-time subsidy for new students in need, which will be used for travel expenses for enrollment and living expenses in the early stage of enrollment. The beneficiaries are high school (including secondary vocational) graduates from families with financial difficulties who have the Huaihua household registration or school registration and are admitted to the 2025 college entrance examination or higher vocational education. The subsidy standard is 500 yuan for admission to colleges and universities in the province and 1,000 yuan for admission to colleges and universities outside the province. After receiving the admission letter, eligible students can consult local offices of school registration or household registration for the specific application process.
