On the morning of June 5, Xu Zhongjian, secretary of the Huaihua Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China, inspected Beidouxi Town, Xupu County on the integration of cultural and tourism development, comprehensive rural revitalization, safe production, and flood prevention and preparedness. He emphasized that it is necessary to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important expositions on the work of "agriculture, rural areas, and farmers", and his important speeches and instructions on Hunan Province’s work, fully implement the decisions and deployments of the CPC Central Committee and the deployment requirements of the provincial committee of CPC and the provincial government, adhere to local conditions, develop rural industries that enrich the people, broaden channels for farmers to increase their income, and solidly promote the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas.
At the lower station of Xuefeng Mountain High-speed Railway Sightseeing Cableway in Beidouxi Town, Xu Zhongjian inspected the building of the station on site and learned about the overall progress of the project in detail. He pointed out that we should keep a close eye on the timeline, organize the construction scientifically, strengthen the supervision of engineering quality and construction safety, and go all out to speed up the construction progress to ensure that the project is completed and operated as scheduled. We should focus on building a national mountain resort tourist destination, take the opportunity of hosting the Fifth Hunan Tourism Development Conference, continuously enrich the tourist business format, and promote the empowerment of rural revitalization by cultural tourism.
At the Beidouxi Research and Study Base, Xu Zhongjian learned about the operation in detail. He pointed out that we should further innovate the form of research and study, enrich the content of research and study, strengthen service supply, and actively cultivate characteristic brands of research and study based on the needs of promoting the comprehensive development of students' morality, intelligence, physical fitness, aesthetics and labor. We should actively explore the paths and mechanisms for the integration of research-and-study practical education with rural cultural tourism development, and promote the development of rural cultural tourism industry.
At the Tsinghua University Rural Revitalization Work Station at Pingxi Village, Beidouxi Town, Xu Zhongjian learned in detail about the empowerment of rural revitalization by colleges and universities. He pointed out that it is necessary to continue to deepen cooperation with Tsinghua University and make use of Tsinghua University's advantages in talent and intelligence to better empower rural industry, talent, culture, ecology, and organizational revitalization.
When he came to Tianyou Agricultural Machinery Cooperative at Pingxi Village, Beidouxi Town, Xu Zhongjian learned in detail about the operation management, service model, and agricultural machinery equipment capabilities. He encouraged the heads of the cooperatives to actively innovate service methods and continuously improve their professional service capabilities and levels. He pointed out that all relevant functional departments should support the development of professional cooperatives, give full play to the leading and driving role of professional cooperatives, improve the scale, mechanization, and technology of agriculture, improve the comprehensive benefits of agriculture, and enable farmers to effectively increase their income through land transfer, industrial dividends, and employment.
Xu Zhongjian also came to the Beidouxi Town Government to learn more about production safety, flood prevention and preparation, and the watch system. He stressed that it is the major flood season, and the CPC committees, governments and relevant departments at all levels must earnestly shoulder the main responsibility for flood prevention, resolutely put an end to oversight and fluke mentality, carry out regular inspections and rectifications of safety hazards, strictly implement the system of leading cadres on duty, 24-hour special duty and reporting when off duty, and do their best to protect the lives and property of the people.
