From May 1st to 5th, a series of online and offline activities dedicated to the International Labor Day were carried out and more than 600 primary school children got engaged. They served as public welfare angles and paid tribute to the working class by following role models of the workers. Those who organized and sponsored these activities included the Social Work Department of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, the Civilization Office of Huaihua City, the Huaihua Water Conservancy Bureau, the Communist Youth League Committee of Huaihua, the Huaihua Volunteer Association, and the Weiai Youth Service Center of Hecheng District.
On May 1st, at Su Yu Park, the little angels played perfectly the role of “environmental protection artists”. They turned recycled materials into handmade flowers and presented them to sanitation workers, couriers, and food delivery motorists. On May 2nd, They brought along with them clamps and garbage bags and acted as “river guardians” by launching a bank-cleaning operation along the riverbank spanning from Shuntian Bridge to Xiangzhou Bridge of Taiping River. At the Municipal Botanical Garden, they got to know the ecological values of various plants and put into practice the concept of “loving the environment through dealing well with trivial matters around us”.
On May 3rd, There was an activity themed with “Paying Homage to Urban Beauticians” at Wanda Plaza and the activity consisted of the parent-child clothes folding and shoelace tying competitions. It enabled these little angels to understand the hardships of sanitation work.
On May 5th, these little kids listened to explanations of simulated drug models and observed related video clips in the Anti-Drug Education Hall of Hecheng District. In so doing they improved their ability to identify drugs and strengthened their awareness of staying away from drugs.
In addition, during the five-day holiday, the relevant online activities were also rich and diversified. These practices of promoting labor consciousness among little children vividly demonstrated the profound connotation that doing manual work is honorable.
