On April 29, a promotion meeting was held to study and analyze the new situation and changes in Huaihua City's foreign trade and to promote the city's foreign trade work to a new level. Deputy Mayor Xiang Rulian attended the meeting.

The meeting reported on the city's foreign trade situation in the first quarter. Since the beginning of this year, the whole city has worked together to stabilize foreign trade and promote opening up. The total trade volume has continued to rise, subsidiary counties’ foreign trade has shown highlights, and the level of open platforms has continued to expand, achieving sustained growth in foreign trade development and laying the foundation for the work throughout the year.

The meeting emphasized that the city must face up to the problems and challenges brought about by the current Sino-US trade dispute, keep a clear mind, strengthen its confidence in development, and seize development opportunities with a sense of urgency that "time is running out, we must work against time", and do its best to fight the foreign trade battle. The city must practice its own internal skills and stabilize the foreign trade market. It must fully tap the potential for economic growth in all directions to ensure the high-quality completion of the annual goals and tasks. It must accelerate innovation and transformation and enhance development vitality, actively develop emerging formats, promote industrial upgrading, and deepen internal and external integration. It must create a good business environment, stimulate endogenous motivation, do a good job in analysis and judgment, visit and investigate, help enterprises to alleviate difficulties, and implement tough tasks. The whole city must unite as one to face up to the difficulties, seize the opportunities of opening up at a higher level, strengthen foreign trade momentum with tougher measures, take on the responsibilities of the times with greater responsibility, and strive to create a new situation of high-quality development of Huaihua's foreign trade.
