On May 28, Huaihua International Land Port (Cross-border) Industrial Park of E-commerce served as the venue for the commencement of the 2025 Hunan Industrial Belt Platform Activity (Huaihua) and the Foreign Business Procurement Trip in Huaihua. Attendees included Zou Xingwang, member of the Huaihua Municipal Standing Committee and deputy mayor of Huaihua Municipal Government, Xiang Rulian, deputy mayor of Huaihua Municipal Government, and Li Dongping, inspector of Hunan Provincial Department of Commerce (HPDC).
Huaihua functions as an important node of the New Western Land-Sea corridor of China as well as a bridgehead for Hunan to connect with ASEAN. Against this backdrop, the city has been capitalizing on the engine of the "Huaihua International Land Port" to get engaged in the "Belt and Road" Initiative, thereby contributing to the New Development Pattern of Dual Domestic and International Circulation. There are across the city more than 20 enterprises involved in cross-border e-commerce business, with overseas warehouses built in the United States, Vietnam, Laos, the United Kingdom, Russia, Ghana, and Kenya according to Xiang Rulian, one local government official.
Our objective is to enable industries of Hunan to develop in a more robust and more open manner, Li Dongping stated. Therefore, the HPDC has organized a series of industrial belt platform activities in collaboration with renowned domestic and international cross-border e-commerce platforms, service platforms, product selection platforms, and industry institutions as well. These activities featuring twenty industrial belts with distinctive characteristics were carried out in ten cities and prefectures through on-the-ground research, training, and resource matching in a bid to provide enterprises with cross-border e-commerce solutions to going global, to facilitate the comprehensive upgrading of Hunan's characteristic industrial belts, and to inject new momentum into the high-quality development of foreign trade. As the seventh stop of these industrial belt platform activities, Huaihua will promote the development of its traditional industrial belts through empowerment of cross-border e-commerce in terms of theme sharing, supply-demand matching, and field visits, thus helping the local enterprises and products to go global.
