On April 13, a youth social event and talent salon titled "Embroidered Miao Attire, Bonds of Youth" and "Building Dreams in Mayang" was hosted in Mayang County, aiming to promote the integration of intangible cultural heritage preservation with ethnic unity. Centered on Miao ethnic intangible cultural heritage, the event adopted a model combining "immersion in intangible cultural heritage activities, talent exchange, and cultural tourism synergy" to create a platform for cross-cultural interaction among young people, composing a new chapter in ethnic solidarity.
Designed in the scene of "Romantic Bridge Strings" , the event featured displays of Miao traditional costumes, silverware forging, and Nuo mask craftsmanship. Young Miao men and women, dressed in ethnic attire, demonstrated traditional skills and conducted hands-on workshops, vividly showcasing their culture’s unique charm. Mayang’s intangible cultural heritage preservation efforts were also exhibited in bards, drawing villagers and tourists alike. This initiative shifts intangible cultural heritage conservation from "static protection" to "living inheritance," deepening public appreciation for Chinese cultural heritage.
In recent years, Mayang’s United Front Work Department has leveraged intangible cultural heritage as a bridge, embedding ethnic unity initiatives into youth development and cultural tourism. This approach not only revitalizes the contemporary relevance of intangible cultural heritage, but also strengthens social cohesion through cultural identity, exemplifying innovative grassroots governance in united front work.
