On December 11, the Huaihua Municipal Government held a video conference with the purpose of deploying work on workplace safety, forest fire prevention and extinguishment during this winter and the next spring, as well as precaution and response to the cold wave. Attendees include Yin Peiguo, member of the Standing Committee of the Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and executive deputy mayor of the city.

According to Yin, it is imperative for departments at all levels of the city to adopt a vigilant attitude and learn lessons from accidents based on the safety situation. This means that we will consistently strengthen research, judgement and early warning, and source prevention and control, respond to workplace safety at the end of the year and the beginning of the next year, and be resolved in preventing and containing accidents and disasters of all kinds as a result.

We will safeguard the bottom line of workplace safety in a vigilant manner. We will understand the dynamics of the major accident and disaster hazards and thus establish “Two Lists” of the work safety in this regard. This means that we will clarify the responsibilities for rectification, improve the rectification measures, and strictly implement closed-loop management in accordance with the procedures of "filing, assessment, rectification, examination, cancellation and reexamination".

We will build a solid line of defense for the safe use of fire with great perseverance. Since winter and spring are seasons which are of crucial significance for fire safety prevention, we will conduct concreate measures to address problems in these key fields. We will meticulously implement fire prevention and extinguishment. This means that we will ensure the stability of the forest fire prevention and extinguishment by raising awareness, adopting multiple measures, and winning the battle in this respect during this winter and the next spring.

We will take precautions in advance so as to reduce risks caused by low temperature, rain, snow and ice disasters. This also means that we will spare no efforts to guarantee the safety of people’s lives and property as well as the stability of the entire society by establishing the bottom-time and extreme thinking and by intensifying accountability on the part of all relevant departments.
