After the Beginning of Autumn, hybrid rice seed breeding witnessed a bumper harvest. Recently, at the hybrid rice seed-breeding base( located in Huomatang Village, Huaqiao Town, Zhongfang County), large harvesters shuttled back and forth in the rice fields. Amid the roar, the processes of cutting, threshing, and crushing rice stalks were completed in one go, outlining a gratifying picture of “bumper harvest ” autumn. Seeds are the “chips” of agriculture, and still the cornerstone of food security. In recent years, in the active response to the rural revitalization, Zhongfang County has made great efforts to develop the seed breeding industry of hybrid rice. In 2024, a total of 675 hectares of hybrid rice seed breeding area were cultivated in the whole county. In order to ensure the smooth harvest of rice breeding seeds, all departments have taken active actions. The agricultural department and villages and towns organize technical personnel to go deep into the fields in advance to provide guidance on harvesting timing and harvesting methods, ensuring the quality and yield of seeds. Meanwhile, efforts were made to coordinate and arrange agricultural machinery to ensure efficient harvesting.
In accordance with the requirements of promoting the revitalization of the “three major industries”, Zhongfang County provides farmers with all-round support such as rice seeds, technology, and fertilizers through the cooperation model of “company + cooperative + farmers”, so that each “rice seed” can become enriching “golden seed”, improving the yield crop of produce and helping farmers’ income increase. At present, the rice seed breeding industry in Zhangfang not only brings considerable economic benefits, but also creates more jobs for people around.
