On July 8, a seminar on the development of livestock, poultry and seed industry  was held in Huaihua City, and Du Dengfeng attended the meeting.

At the seminar, Qu Xiangyong, a professor at Hunan Agricultural University, and Dai Qiuzhong, a researcher at the Institute of Hunan Animal and Veterinary Science, gave lectures on the protection, development and utilization of germplasm resources of Xuefeng Black-bone Chicken, Xupu Goose, and Zhijiang Duck. Leaders and experts attending the meeting jointly discussed new models, new paths and new practices to realize the protection and utilization of Huaihua’s livestock and poultry germplasm resources, innovative research, and transformation of scientific and technological achievements, aiming to accelerate the in-depth integration of government, industry, research, and to promote the high-quality development of livestock, poultry and seed industry.

Du Dengfeng said that 2024 is a critical year for the revitalization of the seed industry. According to the major decision of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China featured by “In-depth Implementation of the Seed Industry Revitalization Action”, Huaihua municipality will spare no efforts to carry out the five major actions: utilization of germplasm resources, innovative research, support of enterprise, base improvement, and improvement of business atmosphere with a view to pushing the development of livestock, poultry and seed industry in Huaihua to a new level. Relevant units directly under the municipal government and relevant counties and county-level cities must take the initiative to provide services, embrace the opinions or suggestions from experts, and transform them into methods and measures to advance the development of livestock, poultry and seed industry in Huaihua, effectively promoting the process of building “International Seed Industry Capital” in Huaihua.
