On the morning of September 30th, 2023, on the occasion of the 10th Martyrs’ Day, Xu Zhongjian, Secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, Yin Yuying, Chairman of Huaihua Municipal Political Consultative Conference, and representatives of cadres and masses from all walks of life in Huaihua City headed for Huaihua Martyrs’ Memorial Monument to lay a flower basket and pay tribute to the revolutionary martyrs and the people’s heroes.

Yin Yuying presided over the flower basket ceremony. City leaders such as He Zunqing, Yao Shuming, Shu Ke, Li Weilin, Zhang Yuansong, Deng Xiaojian, Yu Jianyong, and others attended the ceremony.

At 9 a.m., the ceremony of laying a flower basket to the martyrs was launched. With the inauguration of “March of the Volunteers”, the entire audience sang the national anthem of the People’s Republic of China in unison. After the national anthem, the audience stood in silent tribute to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the liberation of the Chinese people and the construction of the Republic. After the silent tribute, the Young Pioneers sang “We are the Successors of Communism” in memory of the heroic martyrs. Subsequently, Yu Jianyong, Vice Mayor of Huaihua Municipal Government awarded the “Martyrs’ Honor Certificate” to the survivors of martyr Xiao Jianqiang.

Seven large flower baskets were consecrated in the name of the Communist Party of China Huaihua Municipal Committee, the Standing Committee of the Huaihua Municipal People’s Congress, the Huaihua Municipal People’s Government, the CPPCC Huaihua Municipal Committee, the Huaihua Military Sub-district, the Huaihua Garrison, and the people from all walks of life in Huaihua City. The red ribbon on the flower basket read “Eternal Martyrs”. Accompanied by the deep and affectionate “Song of Flower Offering”, the ceremonial soldiers marched forward, holding up the flower basket, and slowly stepped towards the monument, laying it neatly on the pedestal of the monument. All personnel stood in silent homage, saluting with eyes.
