On the morning of May 31,the publicity for the campaign to establish a national health city, Health Huaihua Action and the 36th World No Tobacco Day was held on the Jiahuihuashengtang Square. Deputy Mayor Xiang Xiuliang attended it and delivered a speech.

The event, sponsored by the Municipal Health Affairs Office, the Municipal Health Creation Office, the Promotion Office of Health Huaihua Action and the Municipal Health Committee, was attended by more than 110 people from relevant urban authorities, volunteers and citizen representatives. The relevant representatives made their speeches and read out their proposals successively, and the participants signed their names on the board of theme background. Through the display of publicity boards, free clinic services and the distribution of vector biological control drugs and health knowledge publicity materials, citizens are called on to actively participate in the building of national health city, health Huaihua action and the implementation of tobacco control.

Xiang Xiuliang stressed that all departments at all levels in the city should comprehensively step up the cultivation of citizens’ health literacy, improve the management for urban and rural environment, facilitate the construction of urban infrastructures, bolster the protection for ecological environment, enhance the public health supervision, improve the safety for food and drinking water, and ramp up the prevention and control of diseases as well as the medical services. Besides, we should take coordinated actions and well-conceived steps to encourage all forces from government, society and family to build Huaihua into a national health city and advance Huaihua 15 special actions to push forward the city’s economic and social development with high-quality.
