On the afternoon of May 17, a launching ceremony was held at the Huaihua International Land Port for the first freight train of forest products from Yuanling County of Huaihua City.

Loaded with 100 TEUs of 2,500 tons of semi-finished wooden products, including construction templates, produced by Yuanling Xiangqing Wood Industry Co., Ltd, the freight train headed for Qinzhou Port in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region along the Jiaozou-Liuzhou Railway.

Yuanling is endowed with rich forestry resources, but for years, the county can only export its forest products via highway. With the operation of the Huaihua International Land Port, forest products of Yuanling can be delivered to Nansha Port and Zhanjiang Port by freight train and then be transported to ASEAN countries via the rail-sea transport route. In 2023, Yuanling County will handle 31 freight trains with 1,550 TEUs, leveraging the Huaihua International Land Port to boost its forest product exports.
