Huaihua City is rich in mineral resources, with 64 types of minerals discovered, accounting for 43.8% of the 146 types (including subspecies) discovered in the province. The main minerals include gold, antimony, lead-zinc, vanadium, silica sand, barite, power plant limestone, and decorative granite. In recent years, relying on its resource advantages and industrial foundation, Huaihua City has focused on developing a mining industry worth 100 billion yuan, prioritizing the cultivation of leading enterprises in the industry chain and the construction of major projects, and focusing on the upgrading and transformation of traditional industries. It has vigorously promoted the high-quality development of an eco-friendly mining industry, initially cultivating advantageous and distinctive green mining industries such as gold, barite, silica sand, power plants, and building materials. By 2025, there were 250 large-scale enterprises in the industry chain, with a total annual output value of 58.1 billion yuan. The goal is to achieve a total output value of over 100 billion yuan for its eco-friendly mining industry by 2030.
