Huaihua International Land Port Economic Development Zone, Huaihua High-tech Zone, Hecheng District, Zhongfang County, and Chenxi County primarily focus on the finished luggage and bags industry and accessories, while vigorously developing productive service industries such as foreign trade e-commerce and logistics express delivery. Huitong County is building a complete industrial chain around trolley cases, making Huaihua the first region in China to establish a luggage, bags and leatherware production base at a municipal level. Leveraging the significant advantages of Huaihua International Land Port, including convenient customs clearance, abundant human resources, low logistics and express delivery costs, and sufficient land and housing security, the area has now gathered 202 enterprises producing finished products such as trolley cases, backpacks, and leatherware, in addition to accessories such as handles, zippers, wheels, and fabrics. Among them, 41 are large-scale industrial enterprises, and the luggage, bags and leatherware industry chain is beginning to take shape.
The city will focus on attracting manufacturers of luggage, bags and leatherware, as well as supporting industries such as ABS plastics, leather, fabrics, zippers, wheels, and PVC belts. The goal is to have 240 companies in the luggage, bags and leatherware industry chain by 2027, including 50 large-scale enterprises, achieving a total output value of 8 billion yuan. By 2030, the total output value of the city’s luggage, bags and leatherware industry will exceed 10 billion yuan. The city will establish influential domestic and international platforms for luggage, bags and leatherware processing, exhibition and trading, R&D and design, and testing and certification, ultimately becoming a renowned “International Luggage and Bags Base”.
