On the morning of March 20, Secretary of CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee Xu Zhongjian presided over a special scheduling meeting on the high-quality development of the bag & leatherware industry. He called for efforts to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee, the Central Economic Work Conference and the two sessions and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks and instructions on Hunan and earnestly implement the plans and requirements of CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and People’s Government of Hunan Province. He urged relevant parties to seize the opportunity, steadily advance the high-quality development of the bag & leatherware industry, and build a national important bag & suitcase production base. Municipal leaders Yin Peiguo, Zou Xingwang, Wu Hanming and Xiang Rulian attended the meeting.
Before the meeting, Xu Zhongjian visited Hunan Hongzhan Technology Co., Ltd., Qianhong New Materials Technology Co., Ltd., Xianghuai Bag & Suitcase Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and Hopewell Technology Co., Ltd. to investigate the production and operation of bag & leatherware enterprises. At the meeting, representatives from the municipal office for the development of the bag & leatherware industrial chain, Chenxi County, Hecheng District, Zhongfang County, Huitong County, Huaihua Hi-tech Industrial Development Zone and Huaihua International Land Port Economic Development Zone made presentations, and representatives from Xiangtong Industry, Tujia Luggage and Hopewell Technology delivered speeches successively. They studied solutions to existing problems and clarified specific matters.

Xu Zhongjian called for efforts to keep to the set goals and stride ahead. It is imperative to improve the industrial layout, adhere to differentiated and characteristic development, form a pattern of staggered and coordinated development, and avoid redundant development. It is essential to redouble efforts to attract investment, organize and hold the bag & leatherware trade show, promote investment through industrial chains, introduce a number of key supporting industries, and expand domestic and foreign markets. It is also important to accelerate the development of such platforms as the bag & leatherware exhibition and trading center, R&D and design center, quality inspection center, and information service center, to better empower industrial development.
Xu Zhongjian called for efforts to investigate problems and make breakthroughs with targeted strategies. It is imperative to improve industrial support, move faster to advance key projects, and enhance the overall competitiveness of the industrial chain. It is essential to step up brand building, in a bid to improve the influence, visibility and reputation of Huaihua bag & leatherware products. It is also important to strengthen talent support, introduce professionals, and step up vocational education and skill training, to bolster the high-quality development of the bag & leatherware industry.
Xu Zhongjian called for efforts to strengthen collaboration and form synergy. Leaders of the bag & leatherware industrial chain should make overall plans, engage with enterprises, and come to the project frontline, to address difficulties and obstacles in a timely manner. The municipal office for the development of the bag & leatherware industrial chain should strengthen coordination and scheduling, to give play to its coordinating and supporting role. The three districts and counties should give priority to the development of the bag & leatherware industry and strive harder for further progress. All-out efforts should be made to obtain national and provincial project, fund and policy support, to fully satisfy enterprises’ needs for use of labor and land and create a good production and living environment for enterprises.T
