On the morning of December 16, Secretary of CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee Xu Zhongjian presided over a symposium on expanding domestic demand and stabilizing foreign trade. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement the guiding principles of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and the central economic work conference, stabilize growth and seek breakthroughs with more confidence, go all out to expand domestic demand and stabilize foreign trade, and strive for high-level opening up and high-quality development. Municipal leaders Li Weilin, Yin Peiguo, Zou Xingwang, Han Xiaobo and Hu Heping attended the symposium.
At the symposium, Huaihua Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Huaihua Bureau of Commerce and Hecheng District reported on work progress. Heads of enterprises and associations such as Jiahui Group, Huaihua BBK Company, Sinopec Huaihua Branch, Hunan Dezhong Automotive, Hunan Cold Steel Industry and Trade Company, Huaihua Catering Association, Hairdressing and Beauty Industry Association of Hecheng District, Hunan Yousu Trading Company, Huaihua Yiyatong Supply Chain Company, Hunan Xiangtong Industry, Mayang Blue Phoenix Agricultural Development, Hunan Yiou New Materials and Huaihua Helishi New Energy addressed the symposium and put forward opinions and suggestions.
After hearing the reports and speeches, Xu Zhongjian thanked the entrepreneurs for their prominent contributions to Huaihua’s development and promised to summarize, analyze and implement their opinions and suggestions.
Xu Zhongjian called for efforts to earnestly study the guiding principles of the central economic work conference, stabilize growth with more confidence, seize opportunities to make breakthroughs, implement policies and amplify their effects, truly benefit enterprises and people, maintain the strong development momentum, and advance the high-level opening up and high-quality development of Huaihua City. He emphasized the necessity to coordinate supply and demand to boost consumption, effectively enhance consumption and supply, continuously tap the potential of consumption, enhance residents’ willingness to consume, and improve the stimulating effects of consumption promotion activities. He said that it is imperative to stabilize foreign trade with platforms, give full play to the role of Huaihua International Land Port as a strategic pivot, make meticulous preparations for the Second Hunan (Huaihua) RCEP Economic and Trade Expo, accelerate the construction of the ASEAN Industrial Cooperation Demonstration Park, Cold Chain Logistics Base, Multimodal Transport Center and other platforms to boost opening up both internally and externally, vigorously develop new models such as the model that integrates cross-border e-commerce, overseas warehouses and industrial belt, continuously expand international exchanges and cooperation, and foster new growth drivers for the development of foreign trade and new competitive advantages. To form synergy, relevant departments at all levels across Huaihua City should prioritize the expansion of domestic demand and stabilization of foreign trade in next year’s economic work; municipal leaders should step up coordination and act early; relevant functional departments should perform their duties, coordinate and collaborate with each other, carry out special actions to enhance policies, care and confidence, and timely address the difficulties and problems faced by enterprises in development.
Xu Zhongjian hoped that entrepreneurs across Huaihua City will keep the big picture in mind, boost confidence, take root in Huaihua, dedicate to their core business, enhance vitality, improve strength, and actively expand emerging markets, thereby achieving better and greater development.
