On August 14, Wei Zhaohui, secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee, conducted an investigation and research tour in Xinhuang, emphasizing the need to thoroughly study and implement Xi Jinping’s important ideas on establishing and practicing a correct understanding of governance performance and the spirit of important speeches and instructions on the work regarding Hunan. Wei Zhaohui visited the 70th Anniversary Achievement Exhibition Hall at the Xinhuang Administrative Center, the National Fitness Center, and Gulou Square in Huangzhou Town, where she gained a detailed understanding of the construction of key projects for the anniversary celebration of Xinhuang and the arrangement of activity venues. She emphasized that the 70th anniversary celebration is not only a joyous and grand occasion for Xinhuang, but a major event of great concern to the entire municipality. It is essential to highlight the distinctive features of the Dong ethnic township, integrating elements such as ethnic unity, development, and progress into venue construction and event planning with the use of advanced technologies like AI. Strict quality supervision must be exercised over all projects, and construction should be accelerated while ensuring quality and safety, so that the projects are completed and put into operation as scheduled. It is also of importance to give prominence to a people-oriented approach, coordinate efforts to promote urban renewal, environmental improvement, and livelihood enhancement, so that the achievements of the anniversary benefit every member of the Dong ethnic community.
Wei Zhaohui visited Daoshang Recycling Company, National Pharmaceutical Borneol Company, the Borneol Raw Material Forest Base at Jiangkou in Bozhou Town, the site of the Daxing Highway-Railway Intermodal Logistics Park project, and the Qianfeng Industrial Park Wastewater Treatment Plant, where she gained a detailed understanding of business operations, workplace safety, the borneol industry, and wastewater treatment. She underlined the need to be committed to pursuing the development of the circular economy, deepening cooperation with leading enterprises, and enhancing the capacity for commercializing scientific and technological achievements and advancing industrialization. It is of necessity to cultivate the entire borneol industry chain, carry out intensive processing of products such as natural borneol, borneol essential oil, and borneol liquid to form a diversified product system, optimize product packaging design, strengthen brand promotion and marketing, and enhance market visibility and reputation. Efforts should be made to conduct a comprehensive survey of borneol resources, strengthen basic research, and promote the healthy development of the industry. It is also of necessity to optimize the layout of port-adjacent industries, make targeted efforts to attract investment, and promote the integrated development of port, industry, and city. She emphasized that efforts should be made to ensure the proper construction of the Center, explore the model to improve the integrated medical and nursing care, cultivate specialized disciplines, recruit and train professional physicians and develop distinctive proprietary prescriptions, aiming to enhance the quality and efficiency of medical and nursing care services. It is also of necessity to resolve the prominent issues in the management of medical insurance funds, safeguarding the public’s “healthcare funds”.
Wei Zhaohui also conducted an investigation and research tour of urban-rural landscape enhancement and comprehensive rural revitalization in Xinhuang. She emphasized the need to effectively carry out the renovation of old urban residential compounds and urban-rural greening and beautification efforts and to create a number of micro-parks, micro-gardens, and micro-courtyards, with a view to promoting substantial improvements in urban and rural environments through focused, small-scale initiatives. It is essential to solidly advance the rural construction initiative, implement regular assistance measures, and strengthen distinctive industries that enrich the people, such as Polygonatum (a medicinal plant) and yellow cattle. The Guihua Island should be developed in a scientific and orderly manner, with business formats and landscapes arranged according to local conditions, so that local residents can benefit from the tourism industry.
