On the afternoon of September 6, the first meeting was held by the joint operations command for the Fifth Hunan Tourism Development Conference to study and plan the major tasks in the near future.Li Aiwu, Deputy Head of the Hunan Provincial Publicity Department and Secretary of the Party Leadership Group and Director of the Department of Culture and Tourism, addressed the meeting, while Xu Zhongjian, Secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee, presided over it.

Li Aiwu pointed out in her speech that the preparations for the Fifth Hunan Tourism Development Conference have entered a critical stage. It is essential to shoulder responsibilities and missions with the idea of “coordinating efforts as in a chess game”, strengthen overall planning and command, and enhance coordination and cooperation, so as to ensure that the joint command system operates in sync and efficiently, forming a powerful joint force. With the spirit of “driving nails”, efforts must be made to tackle the weak points. “Progress” and “quality” must be prioritized equally in the Project construction; “refinement” and “humanization” should be pursued in the services; “influence” and “target” should be emphasized in the publicity and promotion; and in terms of safety, both “full coverage” and “no blind spots” should be ensured. It is of necessity to ensure victory in the final battle with the responsibility of “iron shoulders”. It is also of necessity to truly have the courage to “dare to fight tough battles”, the drive to “get things done immediately”, the perseverance to “keep improving”, and the fighting spirit to “work together on the same issue”, aiming to speed up the progress of the preparations for the conference.

While chairing the meeting, Xu Zhongjian pointed out that the departments at all levels across the city should further shoulder the mission and responsibility of being the “host,” fully carry out the plans and requirements by the joint operations command, pay close attention to every detail, carefully refine every link, and make greater efforts toward the goal that the conference is to be held successfully. The rehearsal for the conference should be further bolstered to ensure that one step or process in the whole conference goes to another naturally and smoothly. Project quality and efficiency should be further improved, with full efforts to accelerate progress, ensure quality and safety, and do a good job for the final parts of the project and the trial operation. And warm-up publicity should be further strengthened to foster a strong atmosphere of “being a good host for the tourism development conference”. 

Responsible officials from the overall command headquarters and various specialized operation commands attended the meeting.

In the morning, Li Aiwu and Xu Zhongjian conducted an inspection of the preparations in the main urban area and addressed specific issues on-site.
