On the morning of October 28, a lighting ceremony was held for the project of power generation through garbage incineration in Huaihua. Xu Zhongjian, secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, attended the ceremony and announced the lighting. Liu Nianlai, the first-class inspector of the Provincial Department of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, and Luo Weihua, Party committee secretary and chairman of the Provincial Expressway Group Co., Ltd., Li Chunqiu, deputy secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and mayor, delivered a speech. Li Wanqian, director of the Standing Committee of the Municipal people’s Congress, and Yin Yuying, chairman of the Municipal people’s political Consultative Conference, attended the ceremony.
Li Chunqiu said in his speech that Huaihua Municipality has thoroughly studied and implemented Xi jinping’idea on ecological conservation, taking the promotion of the project of power generation through garbage incineration as a major measure to pursue ecological priority and green development as well as a key project in building an ecological green city, striving to makethe project become the one which can improvethe people’ wellbeing. It is hoped that the construction side of the project will innovate the concept of management and service, strengthen debugging, and improve the follow-up links, ensuring that it will be put into operation as scheduled and turned into a high-quality project. The Municipal Party Committee and municipal government will, as always, support the construction, operation and management of the project to ensure the efficient and standardized operation of the project.
Liu said in his speech that the commissioning of the project of power generation through garbage incineration in Huaihua marks the full coverage of garbage incineration facilities in prefecture-level cities in the province. It is hoped that the project construction units will strengthen the project operation and improve the management. It is hoped that Huaihua Municipality will improve and coordinate the construction of garbage collection and transportation system in the region, improve the efficiency of garbage disposal, take solid steps to promote the construction of power generation through garbage incineration in Yuanling, strive to make the project be completed and put into operation as soon as possible, and promote the garbage incineration in Huaihua to a new level.
Luo Weihua said in his speech that the Provincial Expressway Group will complete the follow-up construction of the project with high standards, high quality and high efficiency with the focus on the comprehensive disposal and utilization of garbage in Huaihua City, operate and manage the project in a safe, scientific and meticulous way, providing support and assistance from state-owned enterprise to improve the living environment of Huaihua City, enhance the well-being of Huaihua people, realize the coordinated development of enterprise management and local economy, and build a new socialist modern Hunan.
Power generation through garbage incineration in Huaihua has a total investment of CNY 769 million, with an annual disposal of 438,000 tons of garbage and 180 million kilowatt-hours of electricity. After the project is fully put into operation, it will dispose ofthe garbagefrom seven counties like Hecheng, Zhongfang, Zhijiang and othercounties or county-level cities, and then, after harmless disposal, the garbage can be turned into electricity through incineration power generation, realizing the reduction and utilization of garbage.
Tang Qiansong, member of the Party Committee of Provincial Expressway Group Co., Ltd., deputy secretary of the Party Committee, vice chairman and general manager of Modern Investment Co., Ltd., and municipal leaders Li Weilin and Zou Xingwang attended the ceremony.
