On the afternoon of November 12, Li Chunqiu, deputy secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee and mayor of Huaihua, visited the Huaihua International Land Port and chaired a meeting to study and arrange work on the construction of the Huaihua International Land port. At the meeting, Li required relevant agencies working on the land port project to implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important remarks and instructions on Hunan as well as the tasks deployed by Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Municipal Committee, and Mao Weiming, governor of the Hunan Municipal People’s Government to speed up the construction of the Huaihua International Land Port.
At the meeting, representatives of the Huaihua International Land Port Economic Development Zone reported on the implementation status of the tasks assigned by Mao Weiming, governor of the People’s Government of Hunan Province on his visit to the Huaihua International Land Port on November 10.
After listening to the reports, Li Chunqiu pointed out that the CPC Hunan Municipal Committee and the Hunan Municipal People’s Government have attached great importance to the construction of the Huaihua International Land Port. Mao Weiming’s visit to Huaihua has injected impetus into the work of relevant agencies, which should fulfill their responsibilities to accelerate the construction the land port with concrete measures, striving to live up to the mission set by the CPC Hunan Municipal Committee and the Hunan Municipal People’s Government.
Li Chunqiu stressed that agencies at Huaihua should quicken the efforts to coordinate with their counterparts at the provincial level to promote the follow-up and implementation of the items identified at the symposium on accelerating the high-quality construction of Huaihua International Land Port, give full play to Huaihua’s geographic advantages of being the intersection of the new western land-sea corridor and Yunnan-Shanghai international land-sea trade corridor, and facilitate the operation of freight trains linking Huaihua with cities in and out of the province including Loudi, Yueyang and Changde as well as Yichang and Nanchang. Full efforts should be made to improve services for the luggage and leather goods industrial park, and facilitate the construction of the China CO-OP Group industrial park and the development of the portside industrial zone.
