On the morning of September 21st, Wei Zhaohui, secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, presided over an expanded meeting of the Standing Committee of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee on election.

Wei emphasized in the meeting the need to thoroughly study and implement general secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourse on the strict discipline of the election, resolutely implement the various deployment requirements of the CPC Central Committee and Hunan Provincial Party Committee on the election work, adhere to the Party’s leadership throughout the entire process and every link of the election work, so as to ensure that the election work advances in the correct political direction. She added that everybody must strictly abide by discipline and rules of the Party and members of the Standing Committee of the Municipal Party Committee should set an example on taking the lead in strictly adhering to the “Ten Prohibitions” of the CPC Central Committee, the “Six Prohibitions” and “Eight Don’ts” of Huan Provincial Party Committee as well as related rules and regulations during the election process. She stressed that we must resolutely resist the unhealthy practices of forming cliques for personal gain, speculation and manipulation, campaigning and bribery, betraying secrets, and interfering with the election process. We should demonstrate and lead all representatives to strictly abide by rules and perform their duties in a standardized manner. We must strictly enforce discipline and accountability, strengthen the supervision of the entire process of the election, crack down on any behavior that violates the discipline of the election and undermines the atmosphere of the election, investigate and punish it strictly and promptly in accordance with regulations, discipline, and law, and strictly report and hold accountable to ensure a clean and upright election atmosphere. To consolidate the responsibilities of all parties, the members of the leadership team should conscientiously implement the “dual responsibilities of one position”. The heads of each delegation should strengthen the supervision of the conduct and discipline of their own meetings. The relevant departments of all levels in the city should take their respective responsibilities and cooperate closely to form a work pattern of top-down communication and joint management. We should take the change of leadership as an opportunity to lead the new team to fully achieve our annual goals and tasks of social and economic development, ensuring a new atmosphere of election.
