On August 11, vast stretches of sunflowers at the Maotianzhou islet beside the Wushui River in Zhongfang County entered their full-bloom phase. The golden sea of blossoms stretches far and wide, against the backdrop of clear blue water and sky. It paints a bright and refreshing picture of rural ecology and has become a must-see spot for nearby residents and tourists to unwind, relax and take souvenir photos.

Upon stepping into the islet, you are greeted by a splendid expanse of golden‑yellow. Sunflower heads of varying heights sway in the breeze, brimming with vitality. Their vivid, full‑blown petals draw flitting bees and dancing butterflies, infusing the tranquil riverbank with liveliness and exuberance.

The sapphire‑blue sky, lucid water and continuous flower fields set one another off to great advantage. The pleasant scenery blends grandeur and gentleness of natural landscapes. During a stroll through the sea of blooms, many tourists pause to admire the blossoms and capture the exclusive romance of summer on their phones, immersing themselves in the comfort and charm of wilderness nature.

In recent years, the county has consistently targeted the goal of building a “habitable Zhongfang”. Upholding the philosophy of “Ecology First and Green-Oriented Development”, it has improved the urban‑rural ecological landscape system by elaborately constructing a host of exquisite pocket parks and street-side green spaces. It has comprehensively improved living conditions and landscape quality in both urban and rural areas, and fueled high‑quality county-level development with its sound ecological foundation.
