Severe floods have ravaged Guigang, leaving Guangxi in urgent need of cross-regional disaster relief. Upon learning that flood-hit Guigang was short of assault boats, disinfection supplies and daily living necessities, the Huaihua Municipal Bureau of Emergency Management issued a city-wide call for relief support on July 9. The appeal sparked an immediate, full-scale response across the city. Caring local enterprises and warm-hearted residents rallied rapidly. Ten relief transport vehicles were fully stocked with supplies overnight and ready to depart. Early on the morning of July 10, the convoy traveled over a thousand miles to the flood zone in Guangxi. Their sincere goodwill and tangible material donations reflect the profound fraternal bond shared by Hunan and Guangxi as one big family.
The relief supplies are precisely matched to the urgent demands of the disaster area, featuring ample volumes and a complete range of categories. Xupu Mingyuequan Co., Ltd. and Mayang Blue Phoenix Agriculture Co., Ltd. made generous joint donations of over 30 tons of drinking water. Under the overall coordination of Chairperson Li Xiaohong, Huaihua Jiahui Group deployed three trucks carrying a total of 4,800 pieces of supplies overnight, including instant food, bottled water and toilet water, to fully cover daily living needs of affected residents. Yuanling Chenfa Holding Group rushed two large trucks loaded with nearly 40 tons of drinking water and disinfection supplies to the frontlines to bolster local epidemic prevention work amid the floods.
Small acts of kindness from ordinary people carry the most touching power. Yi Cheng, person in charge of the Huaihua General Agent of Hunan Jingjin Emergency Rescue Equipment Co., Ltd., had just buried his 98-year-old grandfather. Suppressing his deep grief, he threw himself straight into relief preparations. Supported by his company, he sorted supplies overnight and cleared out the group’s Zhuzhou warehouse, rapidly assembling 16 rubber boats to send to the disaster zone. His selfless deeds speak volumes about his sense of responsibility and devotion.
Shu Ji, a private truck driver from Yuanling County, also stepped forward and made the heartwarming reverse journey toward the flood zone. On July 9, fresh off a long haul back from Changsha, he heard volunteer drivers were desperately needed in Guigang. Without a moment’s rest, he signed up overnight and headed to the yard of Chenfa Holding Group to help load and unload supplies well into midnight. Faced with the thousand-mile relief journey ahead, he spoke in plain yet resolute words: “I have no special skills but my physical labor to offer. Even if I go hungry myself, I will never touch a single piece of rescue cargo on my truck.”
According to local authorities, participating caring enterprises include Hunan Mayang Blue Phoenix Agriculture, Huaihua Mingyuequan, Jingjin Emergency Rescue Equipment, Jiahui Group and Yuanling Chenfa Holding Group. They coordinated and deployed 10 transport vehicles in total, raising 7,650 cases of mineral water, 1,009 packs of instant food, 1,720 sets of disinfection supplies and 16 rubber boats.
On the eve of departure, Ai Zhigang, deputy director of the Huaihua Municipal Bureau of Emergency Management, visited all volunteer relief workers. He urged everyone to strictly follow discipline, act as a unified team and return safely. Professional emergency rescue experts delivered on-site hands-on safety training, building a solid safety foundation for this cross-provincial rescue mission.
Floodwaters are ruthless, yet humanity brims with compassion; when one region suffers hardship, aid pours in from all corners of the country. From enterprises stepping forward to donate supplies generously to residents volunteering to head straight to disaster frontlines, all sectors of Huaihua responded promptly to the call with selfless dedication. Crossing mountains and rivers with heartfelt actions, they brought the warmth of Huaihua and the strength of Xiangchu (Hunan) to flood-stricken Guigang in Guangxi.
