On the morning of June 13, Cao Jianhua, head of the Sixth Ecological and Environmental Protection Supervision Group of Hunan Province, visited the group’s hotline room for complaints to extend regards to the front-line staff on duty. He also served as a “hotline server”, patiently listening to the public’s complaints about ecological and environmental issues reported by citizens of Huaihua City, and put forward specific requirements for the work related to the public complaints. Yi Jihong, deputy head of the supervision group, participated in the inspection.

Cao Jianhua entered the hotline room, carefully reviewed the logs and records of public complaint cases, and gained a detailed understanding of the procedures for receiving, registering, and transferring calls and visits about public complaints. In the hotline room, Cao Jianhua sat at the server’s seat, answered public calls and listened to their complaints and requests. He took careful notes, occasionally asked for details, and stated that the issues would be immediately verified and resolved in accordance with laws and regulations.

After the end of the calls, Cao Jianhua pointed out that the complaint hotline serves as a “bridge connecting hearts” between the supervision group and the public, and as an important window for listening to public voices and understanding the real situation. All the staff should enhance their political stance and handle every call and every letter with a strong sense of responsibility and mission. They should answer public calls with enthusiasm, patience, and attentiveness, keep detailed records, and ensure timely and standardized transferring of cases. They must strengthen follow-up supervision to ensure that every issue raised by the public is addressed or responded to, effectively promoting the resolution of prominent ecological and environmental problems affecting the people, and continuously enhancing the public’s sense of gain, happiness, and security in terms of ecological environment.

It is reported that the Sixth Ecological and Environmental Protection Supervision Group arrived in Huaihua on June 12 and has set up a dedicated hotline (0745-2276208) and a P.O. Box (P.O. Box 2609, Huaihua City), which will accept public complaints from 8:00 to 20:00. During its stay in Huaihua, the supervision group will adopt a problem-oriented approach, focus on ecological and environmental issues that have drawn public concern most, and carry out supervision and rectification simultaneously, taking immediate action to address problems as they are identified, so as to ensure the supervision pays off.
