On the afternoon of March 2, Xu Zhongjian, secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and director of Huaihua Municipal Foreign Affairs Committee, presided over a plenary meeting of Huaihua Municipal Foreign Affairs Committee. The meeting focused on thoroughly studying and implementing general secretary Xi Jinping’s diplomatic thought, conveying the spirit of the plenary meeting of the Foreign Affairs Working Committee of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and the spirit of the working conference of Hunan Provincial Foreign Affairs, listening to the report on foreign affairs of Huaihua city, deliberating relevant documents, and planning the work of next phase of the city's foreign affairs. He Zunqing, deputy secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee Political and Legal Affairs Committee, and deputy director of Huaihua Municipal Foreign Affairs Committee, attended the meeting. Also in attendance were Peng Xundan, Li Weilin, Yin Peiguo, Hu Chen, and Zeng Wenqian, all of whom are leaders of Huaihua Municipal Government.
Xu pointed out that since last year, all related departments of the city have conscientiously implemented the guidelines and policies of foreign work of the Party Central Committee, focused on the overall situation, strengthened their responsibilities, and made new progress and achievements in foreign affairs work. At the same time, we must also be aware that it is still far from perfect on the foreign affairs of our city, so we must deeply study and apply Xi Jinping’s diplomatic ideas, firmly grasp the correct direction of foreign affairs, deeply grasp the new situation, tasks, and requirements of foreign affairs, fully serve the overall diplomacy of the country, deeply understand the decisive significance of the "two consolidations" with practical actions, and resolutely achieve the "two safeguards".
Xu emphasized the need to actively integrate into our country's opening-up strategy, continuously deepen foreign exchanges and cooperation, focus on building demonstration zones of RCEP economic and trade cooperation, deeply implement the action of "Year of Foreign Affairs Service for Foreign Trade Enterprises", actively cultivate export-oriented industries and promote the upgrading of export-oriented economy, so as to better serve the high-quality development of the city. In addition, we need to coordinate civilian diplomatic resources and continuously expand external exchanges and cooperation. We also need to strengthen external publicity and promotion of Huaihua to the outside world, spreading Huaihua's voice, showcasing Huaihua's image, and enhancing the international reputation and influence of Huaihua city. What’s more, we must safeguard foreign-related security and effectively prevent and resolve foreign-related risks. Last but not least, we need to strengthen the comprehensive leadership of the Party in foreign affairs by enhancing our sense of responsibility, strictly enforcing our foreign affairs discipline, and strengthening our team building.
