On the afternoon of December 22nd, Xu Zhongjian, secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee, presided over a specialized dispatch meeting on the high-quality development of culture and tourism in the Xuefeng Mountain resorts. He emphasized the need to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and general secretary Xi Jinping's important discourse on tourism development, conscientiously implement the deployment requirements of Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Hunan Provincial Government, and adhere to planning guidance, highlight cultural characteristics, focus on technological empowerment, so as to solidly promote the high-quality development of culture and tourism in the Xuefeng Mountain area.
After listening to the relevant reports, Xu pointed out that the tourism development of Xuefeng Mountain area is the key to the overall tourism development of Huaihua city; therefore, we must adhere to precise positioning and scientific planning, carefully select planning and design teams, effectively enhance the forward-looking and scientific nature of planning and design, and better lead the high-quality development of culture and tourism in the Xuefeng Mountain area. In addition, we need to coordinate the planning and design of key scenic spots within the core scenic resorts of Xuefeng Mountain, and enhance the differentiation and synergy of regional tourism development. It should be organically integrated with special plans for land space, transportation, forestry, environmental protection, etc., to ensure the coordination between tourism planning and other special plans.
Xu emphasized the need to promote the deep integration of culture and tourism, deeply explore local cultures such as Qu Yuan culture and Huayao culture, and strive to create unique and distinctive tourism products. We should make great efforts to promote the deep integration of technology and culture, empower cultural and tourism products with technology, provide tourists with sensory, playable, and immersive tourism scenes, offer more diverse, richer, and deeper experiences, and effectively enhance the attractiveness and competitiveness of the scenic spots. In addition, we should focus on creating high-quality tourism routes in the Xuefeng Mountain area, pay attention to the protection and utilization of ancient villages, adhere to differentiated and characteristic development, enrich tourist experiences, so as to make people increase income and become prosperous. What’s more, we need to accelerate the upgrading and renovation of tourism roads in the Xuefengshan Mountain area, improve the tourism road network, and better promote the coordinated development of regional tourism. As the core area of tourism development in the Xuefeng Mountain area, Xupu County and Hongjiang City should firmly shoulder their main responsibilities to achieve solid progress on tourism development of the area. Other relevant counties and districts should also scientifically plan and actively take action and the relevant departments of the municipality should strongly support and jointly promote the development of comprehensive tourism across Huaihua city.
Also in attendance of the meeting were some leaders from Huaihua municipality, including Li Weilin, Zheng Xiaohu, Hu Chen, and Xiang Rulian, as well as Huang Xin, member of the Party Committee and Deputy General Manager of Hunan Tourism Development Co., Ltd.
