On December 23rd, the reporter visited the Yingfeng Market and several local supermarkets and found that, with the New Year's Day holiday approaching, the pork market in Huaihua's urban area is well-stocked with stable prices, and citizens are showing high enthusiasm for purchases.
That morning, in front of the pork stalls at the Yingfeng Market, there were rows of brightly colored pork belly, front leg meat, ribs, and other cuts. The vendors were busy cutting, weighing, and serving customers. "I came to the market at 4 a.m. to pick up the goods. Today, I stocked over 200 kilograms of pork, and more than half has already been sold," said Mr. Peng, a stall owner, as he skillfully packaged meat for a customer. He told reporters that the pork supply channels have been stable recently, and prices have remained unchanged compared to half a month ago. Pork belly sells for 22 yuan per kilogram, hind leg meat for 23 yuan per kilogram, and ribs for 44 to 46 yuan per kilogram.
Shortly afterwards, the reporter visited a large supermarket on the Yingfeng Road. Price tags in the chilled meat section were clear and eye-catching, and staff were busy restocking the shelves. "We now restock twice a day to ensure the shelves are never empty," explained the person in charge of the supermarket’s fresh food section. Currently, the supermarket sells hind leg meat for 21 to 25 yuan per kilogram and front leg meat for 20 yuan per kilogram, meeting the diverse purchasing needs of customers.
According to the monitoring data from the Huaihua Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the pork market in the urban area has recently maintained a supply-demand balance, with prices remaining stable and even showing a slight decline. Thanks to the stable operation of the local breeding industry chain and the effective functioning of market regulation mechanisms, pork prices are expected to remain consistently stable around the New Year's Day holiday, ensuring that citizens’ buying confidence.
