In order to build a high-quality self-driving tourism route in Hunan Province and promote the construction of the Great Zhangjiajie International Tourism Area and the Xuefeng Mountain International Mountain Tourism Resort, the launching ceremony of the “Beijing-Kunming Ancient Post Road with Smart Driving along Xuefeng Mountain” self-driving tourism publicity and promotion activities in 100 cities, jointly sponsored by Hunan Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, the Provincial Department of Transport, the Provincial Sports Bureau and the Huaihua Municipal People’s Government, was held at the Dragon Boat Square in Yuanling County and the Longxikou Wharf in the County of Xinhuang on the evening of September 12, 2025.
Zhao Xiaoming, former deputy director and first level inspector of the Immigration Department of the Ministry of Water Resources, attended the launch ceremony in Yuanling. Wang Peng, second level inspector of the Provincial Department of Culture and Tourism, and Feng Guowu simultaneously announced the opening of the event in Yuanling and Xinhuang. Vice mayor Yu Jianyong and vice chairman of the Municipal Political Consultative Conference Zhang Youping delivered welcome speeches in Yuanling and Xinhuang respectively.
The launching ceremony kicked off with a joyful dance performance. Subsequently, Gaode Map and Huaihua Cultural Tourism jointly released the exclusive navigation page of “Xiaode Tour of Huaihua” and launched the “Beijing-Kunming Ancient Post Road with Smart Driving along Xuefeng Mountain” route with intelligent travel service.
It is reported that this self-driving tour promotion is one of the supporting activities of the 5th Hunan Tourism Development Conference. Route A starts from Yuanling and ends in Jingzhou, passing through Chenxi County, Huaihua’s Hecheng District, Zhongfang County, Hongjiang City, Hongjiang District, and Huitong County and districts. And route B starts from Xinhuang County and ends at the County of Tongdao, passing through counties and cities such as Zhijiang, Hecheng District, Zhongfang County, and Hongjiang City, allowing self-driving enthusiasts to appreciate the landscape and folklore of Huaihua.
