On the afternoon of June 12, Li Chunqiu, deputy secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee and mayor of Huaihua City, inspected the construction of regional medical center. During the inspection, he stressed the need to thoroughly study and implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourses on work concerning health care and fulfill the requirements put forward by Shen Xiaoming, secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee, during his visit to Huaihua. He also noted that relevant departments should roll out measures to improve medical service capacity and promote the construction of the regional medical center with high standard. Hu Chen, vice mayor and Ma Yuan, secretary general of the Municipal Government, accompanied Mr. Li on the inspection tour.
During the visit to the No.2 People’s Hospital, Li Chunqiu learned about the work concerning tumor treatment combining traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine and encouraged the academic and technical leaders to improve the mechanism of typical case studies. He pointed out that the hospital should strengthen the development of key disciplines and the construction of key laboratories to facilitate scientific and technological innovation and application to enhance the hospital’s influence and competitiveness in the surrounding region.
When inspecting the construction site of the Tumor Prevention and Treatment Center of western Hunan, Li Chunqiu emphasized that the construction unit should strengthen the management of the construction site, optimize the construction organization, and accelerate the progress of the project under the premise of ensuring the quality and safety, so as to ensure that the project will be completed and put into use on schedule. The construction supervision unit should strictly implement the responsibility of safety supervision to ensure that safety protection measures are in place.
When visiting the Municipal Maternal and Child Health Hospital, Mr. Li learned in detail about the operation of the genetic screening laboratory, emphasizing the need to comprehensively enhance genetic sequencing capacity and set reasonable pricing, so that the general public can enjoy high-quality and affordable healthcare services.
