On the afternoon of June 7th, 2024, the establishment and awarding ceremony of the Huaihua Seed Industry Association and the signing ceremony of seed industry projects were held. Yang Yuanzhu, vice president of China Seed Association and President of Hunan Seed Association, and Li Chunqiu, deputy secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and Mayor, delivered speeches. He Zunqing, deputy secretary of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and secretary of the Municipal Political and Legal Affairs Committee, awarded the plaque to the Huaihua Seed Industry Association, and vice mayor Du Dengfeng awarded the plaque to the “Leading Expert” studio and expert consulting team of the seed industry chain. Yu Weilin, executive deputy secretary general of the Rice Branch of the China Seed Association, and Liu Xuewen, president of Huaihua Vocational and Technical College, attended the ceremony.
Yang Yuanzhu, on behalf of the China Seed Association and the Hunan Seed Association, warmly congratulates the establishment of the Huaihua Seed Industry Association and the successful holding of this event. Huaihua is the birthplace of hybrid rice in the world, and a seed that has gone from Huaihua to the world has also benefited the world, said Yang. Huaihua has unique climate conditions and privileged ecological conditions, making it a paradise for species variation and a treasure trove of germplasm resources. It is also one of the three major hybrid rice seed production bases in China. It is promising for in-depth exchanges and cooperation between the Huaihua Seed Industry Association and Hunan Provincial Seed Association in seed technology innovation, industry standardized management, seed technology training, member rights protection, variety testing and demonstration, which requires to shoulder the glorious mission of helping to build the “International Seed Industry Capital”. Together, it is a must to make greater contributions to the revitalization of Hunan’s seed industry and the increase of farmers’ production and income.
Li Chunqiu, on behalf of Huaihua Municipal Party Committee and Government, expressed sincere gratitude to the China Seed Association and the Hunan Seed Association for their strong support to Huaihua, and warmly congratulated the establishment of the Huaihua Seed Industry Association and the signing of seed industry projects. Building Huaihua into an “international seed industry capital” cannot be achieved without the support of large and good projects. It needs to conscientiously implement the guarantee mechanism of “elements following projects”, and use the most favorable policies, the most superior environment, and the best services to help contracted projects land and build early, start production early, and accomplish early. The Huaihua Seed Industry Association should lead industry enterprises to strengthen research and development, build brands, comprehensively improve the technology and industrialization level of Huaihua’s seed industry, and promote Huaihua’s transition from a seed rich city to a seed strong city.
At the signing ceremony, 12 seed industry investment projects with a total investment of 1.08 billion yuan were signed between the relevant counties (cities, districts) and industrial parks and enterprises inside and outside the province. The Agricultural Bank of China Huaihua Branch has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Municipal Agriculture and Rural Bureau to provide financial support for the high-quality development of the seed industry, and has granted a credit of 1.06 billion yuan to Huaihua Agriculture and Forestry Development Investment Group Co., Ltd., Hunan Aopolong Technology Co., Ltd., Jingzhou Jiahe Hongyun Breeding and Livestock Co., Ltd., and Hunan Yunfeifeng Agriculture Co., Ltd.
