Teng Daiyuan Memorial Hall is located near Jinjiang Square of Mayang County. It is a two-story modern palace-style antique building of brick-concrete structure, completed on November 2, 1986. It was co-funded by the Ministry of Railways, Hunan Province, Huaihua Municipality and Mayang County, and the name of the hall was inscribed by Hu Yaobang, the former General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee. In the Memorial Hall are displays of nearly 400 pictures, objects, documents, letters, etc., of Comrade Teng Daiyuan in various revolutionary periods, as well as inscriptions by the leaders of central government, fully demonstrating Teng’s great contributions to the founding of People’s Republic of China and socialist construction. It is now a provincial patriotism education base and a national 3A tourist attraction. Teng Daiyuan’s former residence is assumed as vernacular building of Qing Dynasty. It is seated in Daimao village, Yanmen Town, 8 kms away from the central city of Mayang County. Due to its particular position in key historical sites under provincial protection, the patriotism education base, and a recommended tourism route, it has entertained large numbers of tourists home and abroad. Teng Daiyuan Memorial Hall and his former residence has been listed among the most recommended 13530 red tourism routes and projects in Hunan Province.
