Mao Weiming, deputy secretary of the CPC Hunan Provincial Committee and governor of Hunan Province, led a Hunan delegation to visit the National Exhibition and Convention Center (Shanghai) on the afternoon of November 5, 2025. The 8th China International Import Expo (CIIE) is taking place here. Governor Mao asked to thoroughly implement President Xi Jinping's important directives on opening up, seizing opportunities presented by the CIIE platform to advance high-level opening-up and cooperation.

A total of 155 countries, regions, and international organizations, as well as over 4,100 overseas enterprises joined the 8th CIIE, once again setting a new record in terms of scale. As a regular participant in the CIIE, Hunan Province has nearly 1,300 registered entities and over 3,400 attendees this year, demonstrating both an expanded presence and enhanced professionalism.
Within the China Pavilion, Hunan-based highlights like Sany's No. 18 Lighthouse Factory, CRRC Zhuzhou Locomotive, and Shibadong Village attracted numerous foreign attendees. Governor Mao noted that efforts should be made to focus on national priorities, leverage Hunan's strengths, and lead the wave of innovation, enabling more "Made in Hunan" products to represent China and shine on the global stage.

The Hunan Pavilion at the 8th CIIE is themed "An Open Hunan Embracing the World," with landscapes as its backdrop, culture as its theme, and intelligent manufacturing as its bridge. Over 60 Hunan enterprises are showcasing their offerings, with the exhibition area doubling compared to the previous session.
Governor Mao toured the exhibition hall with keen interest, encouraging all participants to meticulously craft this "City Reception Hall of Hunan." He emphasized leveraging the synergistic role of exhibitions and negotiations to comprehensively showcase the image of Hunan products, tell Hunan's story in a multidimensional way, and precisely connect with global resources.

On November 4, Governor Mao inspects the Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center.
After visiting the Huawei Lianqiu Lake R&D Center, Governor Mao highlighted deepening pragmatic collaboration between Hunan Province and Huawei in such areas as "AI+," data elements, and cultural technology. He expressed the hope that both sides should work together to expand and strengthen the green intelligent computing industry.
Governor Mao also held discussions with Chinese and international enterprises and organizations including Hexagon, the European Policy Centre, Webasto, Danone, China Energy Group, and Linde.
