On November 27, 2025, the Huaihua Consumer Council, in conjunction with the Hongjiang Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, launched the “Witness the Millennium Rice Cultivation Culture” consumption experience activity in Anjiang Town, Hongjiang City, in accordance with the spirit of the series of activities “Escort Rural Revitalization and Collaboratively Construct Satisfactory Consumption” launched by the Hunan Provincial Consumer Rights and Interests Protection Committee (Hunan Provincial Consumer Council) to promote consumer education in rural areas, and under the guidance of the Hunan Provincial Consumer Council and the Huaihua Municipal Administration for Market Regulation. Representatives from consumer councils (associations), agricultural and commercial enterprises, and consumers from various prefectures and cities across the province participated in the activity.
The experience group first visited the Museum of the Origin of Hybrid Rice, gaining an in-depth understanding of the glorious course of hybrid rice from research and development to promotion. Subsequently, they walked into the Anjiang Agricultural School Memorial Park, traced the footsteps of Academician Yuan Longping and his team, and deeply perceived the scientific spirit and dedication of “One Seed Changes the World.”
In the afternoon, the Symposium on News and Publicity Work of Consumer Rights Protection in Hunan Province (Hunan Region) was held. Participants conducted in-depth exchanges on consumer rights protection publicity work, shared experiences and practices, and discussed how to innovate publicity methods, expand communication channels, and improve work effectiveness, reaching a consensus on further improving consumer rights protection publicity work. In the evening, the experience group also went to Yushuwan and Tianwen Island to conduct on-site inspections of the integration of local night economy development and cultural-tourism consumption, personally experiencing Huaihua’s innovative practices in fostering new consumption scenarios and stimulating market vitality.
This activity has further strengthened the coordination and linkage of consumer council organizations and enhanced the social influence of consumer rights protection work. The Huaihua Consumer Council stated that it will continue to innovate the forms of consumer education, enrich the connotation of experience, and work with all sectors of society to create a safe, convenient and reassuring consumption environment, effectively enhancing the people’s sense of gain, happiness and security in the field of consumption.
