On the afternoon of November 18, Xu Zhongjian, secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee, presided over a briefing for retired veteran comrades and a symposium to solicit opinions on the Municipal Committee's "Proposals" for the 15th Five-Year Plan. During the conference, he listened to their comments and suggestions in person. Wei Zhaohui, deputy secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor, reported on the city's work. Li Wanqian, director of the Municipal People's Congress Standing Committee, and Niu Shunsheng, chairperson of the Municipal Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC), were present.

Those who addressed included Chen Zhiqiang, Xue Zhongyong, Li Mingsheng, Hu Jiliang, Li Jun, Shi Xixin, Qian Dexi, Xiang Xingchu, Sheng Konglin, Jiang Yaowen, and Zhu Musheng and other senior comrades. They fully affirmed the socioeconomic achievements of the "14th Five-Year Plan" period and offered valuable insights for shaping Huaihua's development under the upcoming "15th Five-Year Plan."

After carefully listening to all comments, Xu stated: "The senior comrades have put forward many valuable and substantive insights, which fully reflect their deep commitment to Huaihua's development under the 15th Five-Year Plan. The Municipal Party Committee and Government will thoroughly review and incorporate these suggestions to refine the 'Proposals' for the 15th Five-Year Plan and subsequently compile the official 'Outline'."

Xu expressed gratitude to them for their long-standing support of the Municipal Party Committee and Government, as well as their significant contributions to the city's development. He noted that during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, particularly since the Third Plenary Session of the Sixth Municipal Party Committee was conducted, the city has steadfastly pursued the "Three Hubs and Four New Missions" vision, vigorously implemented the "Five New Initiatives and Four City Development" strategy, and embarked on a "second entrepreneurship," achieving breakthroughs across various sectors and demonstrating a clear upward development trajectory.

Xu pointed out that the "15th Five-Year Plan" period will be a critical phase for the city to sustain its "second entrepreneurship" drive and accelerate catch-up development, with the goal of building a regional central city for the surrounding five provinces. He expressed hope that the senior comrades would continue supporting the Municipal Party Committee and Government, fully leverage their strengths, provide valuable suggestions, and contribute their wisdom to advancing high-quality development across the city.

Municipal leaders Peng Xiandan, Li Weilin, and Yin Peiguo attended the meeting.
