On October 29, Wei Zhaohui, deputy secretary of the CPC Huaihua Municipal Committee and Acting Mayor of Huaihua, met a delegation led by Kyaw Swa Lin, Consul General of Myanmar in Nanning. They attended the inauguration ceremony of the Hunan International Chamber of Commerce Logistics and Supply Chain Professional Committee and the Hunan (Huaihua)-ASEAN Industrial Chain and Supply Chain Cooperation and Exchange Meeting.

Wei extended welcome to Kyaw Swa Lin and her delegation. According to her, Huaihua is a city abundant with blessings, full of surprises, and vibrant with potential. In recent years, the city has, under the strong leadership of the Hunan Provincial Party Committee and Provincial Government, accelerated the development of its international land port, building a strategic platform to align with RCEP, and continuously deepened exchanges and cooperation with RCEP member states. Seven international logistics corridors have been established, including routes to Laos, Vietnam, and Myanmar. The cross-border truck-rail inter-modal service from Huaihua International Land Port can reach Myanmar's Chin Shwe Haw Port. In 2024, Huaihua collaborated with Myanmar on a hybrid rice breeding project, showcasing the vast potential and broad prospects for cooperation between the two sides. It is her hope that the Consulate General of Myanmar in Nanning would encourage more Myanmar enterprises and business associations to engage in economic and trade exchanges and cooperation with Huaihua, achieving win-win outcomes.

In the words of Kyaw Swa Lin, Huaihua is home to a beautiful ecological environment, rich cultural heritage, and vibrant development. She aspires to deepen mutual understanding and friendship through this economic and trade exchange event, and proceed with more exchanges and cooperation. The Consulate General of Myanmar in Nanning will be active in promoting more fruitful outcomes in the cooperation between Myanmar and Huaihua.

Those in attendance also included Gao Kaijue, Counsellor of the Consulate General of Myanmar in Nanning, and Han Xiaobo, vice mayor of Huaihua.
