On the morning of June 13th, the "Connected by Mountains and Seas, Collaborating for Revitalization" Cross-Strait Agricultural and Cultural Exchange Activities kicked off in Huaihua. Over 160 experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs from the agricultural field on both sides of the Taiwan Strait gathered together to discuss and exchange ideas on agricultural development and rural revitalization. Li Chunqiu, Deputy Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee and Mayor of Huai'an, Zeng Zhifu, Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Provincial Party Committee, Wang Bolun, Standing Committee Member of the Kuomintang Central Committee, and Zhuang Jiuyi, Executive Vice Chairman of the National Taiwan Enterprise Association attended the event and delivered speeches.
Li Chunqiu, on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government, welcomed the guests in attendance. He stated that Huaihua is a "magical land without pollution" and a "paradise of species variation". It is renowned as the "hometown of hybrid rice", "fruit town", "traditional Chinese medicine town", and "wood town". In recent years, relying on the unique advantages of the western land-sea new corridor and the China-Laos Railway converging in Huaihua, the city has continuously strengthened economic and trade cooperation with ASEAN countries in the agricultural field and has gradually become an important distribution center for green agricultural products from ASEAN in central China. He sincerely welcomes Taiwanese compatriots and enterprises to come to Huaihua for investment and participate in rural revitalization, join hands with the people to promote high-quality agricultural development, and jointly enhance the well-being of people on both sides of the Taiwan Strait.
Zeng Zhifu pointed out that in recent years, Hunan's agriculture and rural areas have accelerated transformation and upgrading, promoted modern agriculture according to local conditions, and its advantageous and characteristic industries have shown leapfrog development. Taiwan's modern agricultural development started earlier and has obvious characteristics. Hunan-Taiwan agricultural cooperation has a solid foundation, good conditions, and broad prospects. He warmly welcomes all Taiwanese compatriots, including agricultural experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs, to come to Hunan for development and find a stage to realize their dreams in the Sanxiang region.
Wang Bolun pointed out that in recent years, the process of cross-strait people-to-people exchanges and deepening integration and development has become increasingly in-depth, and the exchanges and cooperation between Hunan and Taiwan have become closer. As Huaihua has three platforms for exchanges and communication with Taiwan, it has greatly promoted the integration of cross-strait economic, trade, and cultural exchanges through activities such as cultural festivals and reunions. He hopes that Taiwanese businessmen will remain confident in developing in Hunan, be determined to start businesses in Huaihua, always uphold the development concept of "both sides of the Taiwan Strait are one family", accelerate integration into the new development pattern of the dual circulation in the mainland, and make greater contributions to the deepening of cross-strait exchanges and integration, working together for a better future.
Zhuang Jiuyi stated that the National Taiwan Enterprise Association will take this exchange activity as a new starting point and continue to guide Taiwanese businesses to invest in Huaihua, promote cross-strait agricultural exchanges and mutual learning, assist Hunan in achieving agricultural modernization and rural revitalization, and promote complementary and win-win agricultural cooperation between the two sides to reach new heights.
At the signing ceremony, Hunan University of Chinese Medicine awarded a "Visiting Professor" appointment to Huang Sande, President of the Taiwan Alumni Association of Hunan University of Chinese Medicine. The Huangjing Industry Association of Xinhuang Dong Autonomous County signed a "Strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement for Jointly Promoting the Development of Huangjing Industry in Xinhuang" with the Taiwan Comprehensive Health Research Association. Hunan University of Chinese Medicine and Fu Ying Technology University signed a "Memorandum of Understanding on Inter-school Friendly Cooperation". At the subsequent Hunan-Taiwan modern agriculture and international land-sea integration development cooperation exchange meeting, agricultural experts from both sides of the Taiwan Strait held discussions and exchanges on deep cooperation in the agricultural field.
